Floyd is in beta.

General Overview

What is Floyd?

Floyd is The F Suite’s community-powered AI for Chief Financial Officers and finance leads & teams, integrated directly into our private membership platform, the Braintrust. It’s built to leverage the collective knowledge of The F Suite community to help our members make better, faster decisions and succeed in their jobs.

Who is Floyd for?

Floyd is exclusively for members of The F Suite.

How do I access Floyd?

F Suite members can access Floyd by logging in to the F Suite Braintrust at braintrust.fsuite.co

What are Floyd’s primary use cases?

Floyd allows you to scale your impact by leveraging the collective intelligence of The F Suite Braintrust. Key capabilities include:

  • Institutional Search: Surface relevant discussions, templates, and insights from across the Braintrust platform.

  • Peer Connection (Peer ID): Identify and connect with specific F Suite members who possess expertise in the topics you are navigating.

  • Vendor Intelligence: Vet service providers based on the real-world experiences and unbiased recommendations of your peers.

  • Strategic Benchmarking: Access data on finance spend, department headcount, and industry standards.

  • Daily Workflow Support: Get answers to the common finance and operational questions that arise in a company environment.

As a community-driven AI, Floyd’s capabilities will continue to expand and evolve based on your direct feedback and contributions to the Braintrust.

How is Floyd different from an LLM?

Floyd uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to add a proprietary layer of knowledge from The F Suite community to provide you with peer-tested and practical results. Floyd has been developed with thousands of internal prompts, guardrails, rules, and search instructions to help source and deliver the most relevant and useful information for company finance professionals.

What is outside of Floyd’s intended scope?

Lloyd is not currently configured to:

  • Provide Financial Advice: Floyd is not a substitute for professional financial advice.

  • Serve as a Repository: It is not a general enterprise storage solution.

Data Usage & Sources

Which Braintrust information does Floyd use?

Floyd considers all content you already have permission to access within the Braintrust, including hundreds of annual discussion threads, artifacts from events and from peer submissions (event videos, templates, playbooks, checklists, and more), and thousands of vendor and service provider feedback items from your peers.

Is Floyd aware of my prior contributions to the Braintrust platform?

Yes. Floyd can reference content you have contributed to the Braintrust platform, including your profile information, in order to improve and tailor answers to you.

Floyd can also surface your prior contributions to other users (for example, your discussion forum posts, uploaded peer documents, and recordings of events you participated in), but only in ways that respect existing member access and visibility rules. Content shared with a specific group or audience remains visible only to that same group; Floyd does not expand or change who can access that content.

How does Floyd cite Braintrust sources?

Every answer includes direct citations and source attribution. You’ll receive links and references to discussion threads, shared documents, event videos with transcripts, member profiles, and member recommendations, allowing you to easily verify responses within the Braintrust.

What Braintrust information is excluded from Floyd’s use?

As mentioned above, Floyd will not consider any data you do not already have access to within the Braintrust. Also, Floyd does not access or use any of your private chats/direct messages.

Does Floyd use external sources as well?

Yes. To provide comprehensive answers, Lloyd also considers:

  • The F Suite Private Research. Lloyd utilizes private research and data created, curated, and sourced by our staff across a variety of topics.

  • Curated Web Sources and Model Data. Based on your query, Floyd will prioritize certain other trusted web sources in addition to relying on the knowledge from the foundation LLM as a baseline.

Data Segregation

Can other Floyd users see or access my inputs or outputs?

No. Your Floyd sessions are private to your account and are not visible to any other community members, including other F Suite members from your team. We built Floyd with the following controls:

  • The model does not access other users’ interactions when generating answers for you. Floyd does not search or read anyone else’s inputs or outputs to respond to you. It only receives the text you provide in your current or past sessions.

  • Strict data boundaries in the system architecture. Even though multiple users interact with the same underlying model, each request is processed independently. The model is stateless with respect to other users; it has no technical ability to retrieve or reference someone else’s stored prompts or interaction history.

What happens to documents I upload in my sessions with Floyd?

Consistent with the above, the documents you share with Floyd in your sessions are private to you and your conversation history with Floyd.

Model Access and Training

What LLM providers do you use for Floyd?

Floyd uses a multi-model architecture, which means that it calls different models for different purposes to optimize the experience for the user. Our current providers are: Anthropic, Open AI, Voyage, and xAI.

We may add or change LLM providers. If we do, we will update this guidance and our subprocessor list, and notify you as required.

Are my inputs to or outputs from Floyd used to train AI models?

No. Your inputs and outputs are not used to train Floyd or any of the underlying third-party LLMs.

We only use versions of LLM that either state in their published terms and policies that they do not use API inputs to train their models or where we have explicitly opted out of training.

Is the data I enter into Floyd be used by The F Suite for any other purposes?

We may use this information to personalize and improve your experience within The F Suite. For example, we may analyze this information to better understand common member questions, identify which features are most valuable, and recommend specific resources or events most likely to help you succeed.

If you choose to provide feedback, such as an up or down vote on a response provided by Floyd, we may review the associated interactions to improve our products and services.

Data Privacy & Confidentiality

Can I put personally identifiable information (PII) into the Floyd?

The current use cases for Floyd generally do not require Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to provide high-quality results. Please use your professional discretion and ensure you are abiding by your company’s policies and guidelines regarding the use of AI tools.

Do you have a data processing agreement (DPA)?

Yes. The Suite’s DPA forms part of your membership agreement and governs our processing of personal data. You can review the DPA here.

How does Braintrust ensure the security of my data?

We have successfully completed an independent SOC 2 Type 1 examination of the Braintrust, verifying that our platform’s security and confidentiality controls meet the rigorous standards established by the AICPA. To demonstrate our ongoing commitment to enterprise security, we are currently in the observation period for our SOC 2 Type 2 audit.

Who at The F Suite has access to data entered into Floyd?

Only a small group of team members responsible for improving Floyd have access to Floyd user session data. All such team members are bound by strict confidentiality obligations.

Data Retention & Deletion

What are the data retention policies for Floyd?

Your data is stored by The F Suite in a secure database, where it is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit via TLS 1.2+. The F Suite has Zero Data Retention (ZDR) agreements with Anthropic and OpenAI. This means that these LLM providers use your data for processing the immediate task only and do not store your data.

Can I delete my inputs or outputs to Floyd?

At this time, deletion is performed by the user on a session-by-session basis. Deleting a session removes the thread, including the inputs you entered and the responses generated, from our database.

What Else Should I Know?

Are there rules for how I use or share Floyd’s responses?

Yes. Floyd’s responses may reflect the knowledge, experiences, and perspectives of The F Suite members shared on the Braintrust platform or during The F Suite events.

You may not use Floyd’s responses for social media or public-facing content without prior consent from both The FSuite and any members whose contributions are referenced.

Can I use this if I am based outside the US?

Yes. Please note that our infrastructure is hosted in the AWS US East (North Virginia) region (us-east-1). Since data processing occurs within the United States, we recommend you verify compliance with your local data transfer regulations.
